April Showers

It has almost been a month since my last posting.  The last few week have been very busy.  We are finalizing the sell of our house and purchase of our new one.  I have started to packing the house and I never realized how many things that we have that we do not use.  I have been clearing out the items we no longer use.  I feel it is a great waste to have it sitting in a closet when someone else could be putting it good use.  Ridding the clutter should allow me more space for creating.

Some of the other positives of the move is that we should be in the house in time for me to still have a small garden.  Vegetables just seem to taste better when they are harvested fresh from the garden.  I am hoping we will be able to find wild plums for making jelly as well again this summer.

I will keep you posted as we make our progression into our new life. I pray for each of you that the blessings shower down upon each of you as they are my family.

Marching of ideas

The winds of March are carrying me right along.  I have several new listing in the shop. I am really enjoying some of my newest creation. I have started a new line of decorative outlet covers.  I first started making these to coordinate with my Wild Side Bottles but now my imagination is going wild with all of the different things I can do.

With warm weather approaching it will be time to plant my flowers. Since I am not sure if we will be moved into our new house early enough to plant a garden, I will be taking on a container gardens this year. This produces  challenge for me. I have never been really good at growing anything in a container. I will keep you updated on my progress.

With the thoughts of a container garden, new ideas are springing up for items to list in the shop.  Keep checking back to see my latest creations that you can add to your garden.

A lion or a lamb?

I am not sure if March will arrive like a lion or a lamb but the last day of February has arrived and I am working right on schedule. I have projects to list or re-list every few days for the month of March.

March has always seemed to be a long month for me.  I am not sure if it is because February is so short or because  there are 31 days in March.  In the past it seems that the budget just goes out the window.  Well this year I have set my mind to keeping the budget and progressing right on into April with a surplus.

There are so many things to look forward to in this coming month.  We have a friend who has been building a school in Haiti for the last six months that will be returning back home to stay.  They have finished their part of the school finally and it is ready for the next stages of constructions. His family and my youngest son spent their Christmas holiday working on the project and all are excited to see this completion.  Spring break is just around the corner.  The boys will be coming home for the week or at least part of it.  I do miss the kids being home...it is really quiet without them. Oh and of course we have St. Patrick's Day. It has always been a fun holiday for this family.  One of the special things we would do is have green eggs and ham for breakfast.  Great way to start the day.

So no matter if March arrive like a lion or a lamb it is going to be a great month.  Until next time have a blessed day.

Progress

February is moving right along. Even with all of the freezing temperatures, my projects are progressing well. We had to take time to work on a busted line from the water well. I really like the modern luxury of having running water to the house. I am not sure I would have made it well in the pioneer days of hauling water but then I would have never known the difference.  I guess we become accustomed to the life in which we live. I have always considered myself a survivor and creative enough to make things work, so maybe I would have made it OK.

I have several complete projects except for the photos. That will be my first project for this weekend. My new projected listing date in starting March 1st. What a great way to start spring. I know it doesn’t officially start then but by my calendar or wishful thinking it is spring time.

How Time Flies

It is hard to believe it has been a month since my last posting.  Amazing how time can get away from you if it is not planned.  I have been told "if you do not fill your calendar it will be filled for you".  This month has been a prime example of that.

We are in the process of relocating about 90 miles from our current home and returning to our home town. The Lord has led us to make this change.  I am not sure what his plans are for us, I only know that He knows how it will turn out.  We are in our new location five days a week and then home for the weekends.

This change has not allowed for me to work on my new projects as I had hoped.  Which brings me back to the statement "if you do not plan your calendar it will be planned for ".  Therefore I have scheduled time in the month of February to complete some of the new projects for the shop.

Not only to complete them but also to photograph them and to post them.  I am excited about the new things to come and I hope you enjoy the journey with me.  Have A GREAT and BLESSED DAY!

As we wrap up the year, my mind has been working overtime with ideas for the Tabby Cat. I have had time to reflect on what I have done so far and where I want to go.

I am so excited for the arrival of 2011. New item will be pouring into the shop. Some of the items will be upcycled and some will be new.   I enjoy the creation process and finding ways to add to the beauty of everything around me.

I am so blessed to have such a wonderful family who supports my endeavors. They are my greatest fans.

As the new year arrives I wish for each of you, joy and peace for the coming year.

The wild side

I enjoy looking at magazines and finding the unexpected things in a room.  It may be that small touch of whimsy that adds the special class to the room.  I wanted to try my hand at creating something, which one would not expect to find.

The creation of my zebra bottle was just for that purpose, finding the unexpected.  I wanted something for the wild side. Future plans for The Tabby Cat include creating an entire collection of bottles and other accessories for the wild side. Look for new items in the near future..
